1) Can I be honest with you? This weekend I did not have the best attitude about working on the basement.
Sometimes I feel like we have been digging for....ev.....er (name that movie. anybody?).
Sunday afternoon we were working and Daniel asked me to clean up this little area in the basement that had some wood and junk that needed to be cleaned up and thrown out. I did it, because it was how I could help him best at that time, but as I was working on it I was grumbling on the inside. Feeling sorry for myself that we haven't had time to do anything this summer and fall but work. All of our extra money and extra time are put in to the basement. And the list went on, but in the end I realized that my attitude was way out of line. And thinking about it this way was just making it worse! So I decided to make a list in my head of all the things I was thankful for about our basement project. I am thankful we even have a house with a basement to finish. I am thankful that Daniel is so talented and motivated to do this work himself. I am thankful for our friends who have come over to help - some of them have come every Saturday for weeks! I am thankful that no one has gotten hurt doing this very hard work. I am thankful that God provided us with the right tools, like a cement mixer, just when we needed them. And as I was making my list, you know what, God took my bad attitude and transformed it to the point where I was glad to be picking up the garbage!
Just a little more to dig and then we will be ready for the new floor.
This will be the bathroom. The toilet will be under the window. Can you picture it?!
Here is our ramp we use to get the wheelbarrow up to the old floor and then we have another ramp to get it out the window.
2) I'm not the biggest fan of Halloween decorations. I like fall decorations: pumpkins, mums, even scarecrows. But I have seen some freaky looking houses around our neighborhood and I'm just not a fan.
3) I LOVE Thanksgiving. And I don't do anything Christmas-y until after Thanksgiving. And it drives me crazy that after Wednesday every store I got in to will be in full blown Christmas mode. Come on people, what about Thanksgiving?!
Ok, that is enough of my craziness for the day. Have a wonderful week!
